In 2023, the Trinity Health Kidney Transplant Center in Grand Rapids celebrates its 50th anniversary. Since its opening in 1973, more than 2,800 kidney transplants have occurred, improving the lives not only of the patients but of their loved ones and caregivers.

The Intermountain Transplant Program performed a total of 104 liver, 159 kidney, 29 heart, and eight kidney/pancreas adult transplants last year – the fourth consecutive record-breaking year for the Intermountain Transplant Program. In 2021 the team performed 289 transplants.

Each year, Press Ganey recognizes a handful of standout organizations for putting the human experience at the heart of health care. Sharp HealthCare is pleased to announce that three Sharp hospitals were among this year’s Press Ganey honorees.

During the 2022 calendar year, 262 patients received kidney and/or pancreas transplants at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, which ties the highest annual total, first achieved in 2020.
