Kenneth Lieberman, M.D., chief of Pediatric Nephrology at Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center, and professor of Pediatrics at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, has received the 2022 Excellence in Care Award from the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), a research and advocacy organization.

Patients in need of transplant in the Mid-Atlantic region continue to benefit from the renowned expertise and exceptional outcomes of the MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute team. With a steadfast focus on providing optimal clinical care, the team remains a national leader in life-saving transplants such as kidney, pancreas, liver, and small bowel transplants during the pandemic.

For National Donate Life Month, Allegheny Health Network will hold several events across 10 hospitals to encourage staff, patients, and visitors to learn more about organ donation and how to become a registered organ donor.

The Donor Care Network has designated Loyola University Medical Center as a Center of Excellence. The Donor Care Network helps ensure living kidney donors are treated with the utmost courtesy and respect by implementing best practices and recognizing facilities that adhere to their guiding principles. The designation will help Loyola improve patient access to living kidney donor transplants through the National Kidney Registry.
